Revenge plots: when justice becomes a highlight reel

The Glory and its cousins, and how recaps train us to clap

The ledger

Revenge dramas keep a ledger: this burn, this silence, this parent who sold a child to bullies. Recaps love ledgers because they are easy to number. The ethical risk is that the audience becomes an accountant of wounds rather than a witness to a person.

The Glory is famous because it lets Dong-eun wait. Waiting is adult. Recaps sometimes skip the wait and keep the traps. Then the story becomes a magic show. Ask whether the recap still shows the cost to the avenger’s own life.

What we refuse to celebrate

We will not call a recap “strong” only because a bully finally screams. Strength is structure, performance, and whether the camera stays human. If a title exists to loop a girl’s pain for clicks, we say that in weaknesses—even if the original series is acclaimed.

በቀል ታሪኮች ሲጣደፉ ሰውን ሳይሆን ቁስልን እንዲቆጥሩ ያስተምራሉ። የእኛ ጽሑፍ ያንን ይቃወማል።

If you still watch

Watch once, not as background. Do not loop the beating scenes. Read a piece about real-world bullying resources if the story lands too close. Our contact page is for catalog issues, not counseling—but we will not pretend a recap is therapy.
