Wealth-gap school dramas: uniforms that work like fences

Scholarships, international campuses, and the lie that manners are merit

Merit is often a costume

The poor student is told to be polite. The rich student is told to be interesting. Recaps sometimes side with charm. Our reviews side with the fee structure. Who pays? Who is on scholarship? Who can leave the city if the scandal breaks?

F4-style stories sell a girl who “doesn’t care about money” while surrounding her with money. That can still be fun. It is not a documentary about fairness. Say the quiet part in Amharic so a teenager in Adama is not gaslit by a palace set.

Violence with a crest

Elite schools in these titles beat people and call it tradition. If a recap uses a laughing soundtrack over a beating, we flag it. Class contempt dressed as pranks is still contempt.

የሀብታም ትምህርት ቤት ታሪኮች ብዙ ጊዜ ጨዋታ የሚመስል ግፍ አላቸው። ስሙን ግፍ ብለህ ጥራው።

What to read instead of another palace
